Summer Sleepover at The Bonham Hotel

Regular readers here at Definitely Lovely will know how much we love the annual Blogger Christmas Sleepover that the wonderful Laura hosts, so when she got in touch to invite us to a summer edition in Edinburgh I was very excited indeed.

After packing my pyjamas and some home baked treats I hopped on the train to Edinburgh and made my way to The Bonham Hotel, which is just a short stroll from Haymarket Station. On arrival I was blown away by how beautiful the aesthetic is at The Bonham, beautiful high ceilings, grand staircases and the huge windows which provided the perfect outlook onto the charming surrounding streets.

I got myself checked into my room, which was perfect for a night in the city and I was welcomed with a delicious selection of mini sweet treats. Obviously sleepovers cannot be enjoyed in anything other than your favourite pyjamas, so I popped my pj's on and joined the lovely Laura, Lynsay and Lori in the gorgeous suite that the team at The Bonham had kindly kitted out with everything we needed for a girlie night in, blankets, DVD's and of course some fizz!

We kicked off the evening by catching up over our delicious goodies, safe to say the table was jam packed with every type of sweet sugary goodness you can imagine! We then took it in turns to let Benefit give our brows some TLC.

After catch ups and pampering a knock at the door meant some canapes had arrived, and after all the sugar some tasty savoury bites were just what was needed.

No girlie night would be complete without some crafting and we had so much fun playing with all the fun crafty creations kindly supplied by Hobbycraft, it was great to make some summer themed jewellery.

It was then time for dinner, and with each knock at the door came another mouth watering course, the wonderful team at The Bonham completely spoiled us. My favourite had to be the Lamb main course closely seconded by the Teriyaki Salmon Wrap we had for starter. The feast concluded with a chocolate fondue complete with fresh strawberries and marshmallows, the perfect treat to end our epic dinner with.

Full, content and slightly sore from laughing so much we settled down with our blankets to watch one of the DVD's that had been left in our room, Shirley Valentine. I then headed back to my room and had the best nights sleep.

The next morning we all headed down for breakfast together in the bright airy dining room. We started with some fresh fruit and pastries and then I ordered my favourite, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and it did not disappoint. This was the perfect start to the day and such a lovely end to a fabulous sleepover.

I had such a great time and as always huge thanks to Laura who was the perfect host. Special thanks also to the team at The Bonham, it really was the perfect place to enjoy a girlie night away, and the service and attention to detail were truly wonderful. Great company, fantastic location and the best food ever...now is it too early to start planning my festive outfit for the Christmas Sleepover?
