SensatioNail Gel Starter Kit

SensatioNail Gel Starter Kit

As a nail polish fan, it was only a matter of time before I branched out into gel nails.  However for a first timer, it can be quite daunting with so many brands and choices.  To make it easier for myself I recently picked up the SensatioNail Gel Starter Kit which contains everything you need for a proper gel manicure.  Here's what I think of it.

Each kit comes with one choice of colour, a UV/LED lamp and the various tools and liquids you need for a gel manicure.  I opted for the Scarlet Red shade because you can never go wrong with red but there are other choices available.  While the lamp looks to be of great quality and size, I have to say I was pretty disappointed in the size of the products which are all miniature.  For the £49.99 price tag I do feel like they could at least throw in a full size polish but that's my opinion.

The instructions are very easy to follow and tells you exactly what to do and when.  The gel polishes are great quality but I do feel the nail buffer could be improved, especially as it's went dull after around 2-3 applications.  Once all the steps have been taken and the nail polish has cured, you're left with a super shiny gel nail look which makes all the waiting about worth it.  I haven't had the polish on for a full 2 weeks but it's held up really well and I'm looking forward to experimenting with it even more.

I think this kit is great if you want to ease yourself into gel nails and have everything you need but I do think it's overpriced for what you get in the kit.  If it had full sized products inside, plus a remover for gel nails I think it would have been perfect.  However, with high quality gel nail polishes going for £2-3 on Amazon, it won't take long to build up your collection.  If you're looking to get into gel polishes, it's a good place to start.
