Taming The Brows

Taming Brows: HD Brows Eye & Brow Palette in Foxy, HD Brows Precision Tweezers, Zoeva 322 Brow Line Brush and Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with my brows.  I'll go through stages where I fill them in perfectly and others where my trusty fringe can hide the stray hairs I haven't quite gotten around to yet.  Still, to encourage myself to tame my brows, I picked up a couple of new products and some repurchases too from the likes of HD Brows and Anastasia Beverly Hills to get the job done.
Taming Brows: HD Brows Eye & Brow Palette in Foxy and HD Brows Precision Tweezers
I've been a huge fan of the HD Brows palettes but mine was looking a little worse for wear so I decided it was about time to pick up a brand new HD Brows Eye & Brow Palette in Foxy.  The one I previously owned was in a square palette with 4 shades but they've actually now updated the palettes to include 4 shades plus a brow wax in a rectangular case.  Compared to the original palette, the shade choices are slightly different but the middle brown shade is the perfect match for my brows.

I experimented with the brow wax but personally I found it gave me greasy looking brows so I'll probably just stick to the powders.  While the powders are of great quality, the brush that comes with the set is not.  It's actually duo sided, with an eyeshadow brush on one end and an angled brow brush on the other which has conveniently fallen off while I was taking this photo.  Compared to the angled brush in the previous kit, the new one picks up hardly any product and takes far too long to fill in the brows.  Do yourself a favour, pick up a separate brow brush and toss this one to the side.  Aside from the brush it's a great palette and I'm looking forward to experimenting with the highlight shade too.

While making my palette order on Beauty Bay, I noticed they were offering a free set of HD Brows Precision Tweezers worth £20 with any HD Brow purchase so I gladly popped them in my basket.  My current much loved La Vaque tweezers were coming to the end of their time so it was perfect timing to pick up a brand new pair.  Overall I'm really happy with the quality of the HD Brow tweezers, they're very sharp and pick up hairs so easily.

Taming Brows: Zoeva 322 Brow Line Brush and Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown
One product I've been dying to try out for quite some time is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown.  I tossed and turned at night thinking about purchasing it but I decided enough is enough and I would give it a go.  Because Anastasia Beverly Hills is hard to get by in the UK, I made my purchase blind in terms of shade choice.  I previously owned the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Brown so I felt like it would be a safe choice.  I found this pretty difficult to apply as it's a lot more precise than powder but I've come to find that less is definitely more with this product.  You need the tiniest bit or else you may as well have tattooed your eyebrows on.  With the shade choice I do feel like Medium Brown might be the tiniest bit too dark for me but I can get away with it.  Perhaps when I dye my hair darker next time it will be the perfect match.  Once I got to grips with it I really liked the finish but I do think I prefer the powdered brows look.

I knew that the Dipbrow Pomade didn't come with a brush so I decided to pick up the Zoeva 322 Brow Line Brush which looked perfect.  I'd never tried Zoeva brushes before but I'd heard such great things, plus it was fairly priced at £5.95.  I normally find most eyebrow brushes too long and thin so this is the perfect size.  It's a very short, wide angled brush with very soft bristles and it worked really well with the Dipbrow Pomade.  I also really like that it comes with a handy pouch and brush head protector, I'd definitely look into picking up more Zoeva brushes soon.

Those are the products I use to tame my brows!  I find it can be really tricky getting the perfect match for light to medium brown hair so I'm glad all these products managed to meet my needs perfectly.  Now that I have no excuse to hide my bushy brows I think it's time to break out the tweezers...
