Morris & Co.

Morris & Co
Some of you may know I went to uni to study Fashion, but did you know my second choice was Art History?  Back in school it was always a subject I looked forward to learning more about.  One section was based on the Arts & Crafts movement which included William Morris, one of the most influential designers of the movement, with traditional style textiles and rejecting industrial techniques.  So influential that the designs have made their way into the 21st century, inspiring a range of Morris & Co. beauty products.  Now enough of the history lesson, back to beauty!

At first after seeing the amazing packaging, I felt they captured the essence of the designer but with that comes the feeling that the product inside may not be up to the same standard.  Thankfully I can report the product inside is just as great as the outside.

Morris & Co Strawberry Theif Bath Crystals

Starting with the Morris & Co. Strawberry Thief Bath Crystals, this contains a lovely pouch of natural mineral salts to add an extra piece of luxury to your relaxing bath.  Inside the crystals are contained in a secure organza pouch to stop them spilling everywhere.  Although the collection is called Strawberry Thief, this is from the name of the design and doesn't reflect the contents.  What you will find is essential oils of Patchouli, Orange, Black Pepper and Lavender.  The scent is almost masculine with a hint of lavender to soften it.  The crystals dissolve perfectly and after your relaxing bath you'll be floating off to bed in no time! At £5, very reasonably priced for the quality.

Morris & Co Nourishing Body Wash and Moisture Rich Body Lotion

Next we have the Morris & Co. Bath Duo (Body Wash & Lotion).  Scent wise they aren't too far off the bath crystals however they appear to be much more earthy with Amber, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Red Berries, Bergamot and a hint of Rose.  Amber and Sandalwood are two of my favourite scents so we're off to a good start!  The scent may hint towards a slightly older consumer but I still find it fresh and young enough to pull it off.  I was very impressed by the quality of these two.  The Nourishing Body Wash lathers well with the scent staying put after I've showered and the Moisture Rich Body Lotion sinks into the skin quickly with the perfect amount of scent and hydration.  A big selling point for me is that it also contains no parabens or sulphates which is pretty hard to find with these kinds of products.

Overall I'm very impressed by the quality of the Morris & Co. products.  I personally feel they've captured the essence of the designer through aesthetics and scent while also making them very affordable which was one of the ideologies of Morris to make his designs affordable to all.  If you fancy treating yourself or picking up some sets for a gift, these would be perfect.
