The Overnight Oils

Overnight Oils: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, NUDE ProGenius Treatment Oil, Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Whenever my skin needs a pick me up, I always reach for my favourite overnight oils.  The miracle workers that transform your skin while you sleep.  Chances are if someone has recommended a face oil to you, it will be one of these three.  With that in mind, I thought I'd compare the three to help narrow down which one will suit your skin the best.

First off we have the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair which is a cult favourite in the beauty world.  Although it's typically targeted towards mature skin, I'd really recommend it to those who suffer from acne scarring as it makes a world of difference to mine.  I currently have the older version as it lasts such a long time but the new version is supposed to be even better.  The texture isn't overly oily so you can apply it right before bed and wake up to fresh looking skin.

Next we have the NUDE ProGenius Treatment Oil* which is a blend of 10 oils including omega 3,6,7 and 9.  This has the oiliest texture of them all so you will have to wait a while for it to sink into the skin before you go to bed.  I'd say this oil is best for hydration.  If you're skin is looking dull and feeling dry, it really helps to apply this at night to wake up to soft and healthy looking skin.  You can also use this during the day, under foundation if you wish!

Finally we end with the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate* which we recently picked up at the Kiehl's Glasgow Flagship Store Launch.  Compared to the other treatments, this has much more of a dry oil texture which sinks into the skin quickly so you can go right to sleep after applying.  This is probably a good thing because the scent is seriously soothing, almost spa like.  I'd say the morning result is similar to the NUDE oil but if you're after something a little more lightweight, this would be the one to go for.

Although they are pricey, I think oils are one of the best skincare products you could invest in.  However I would recommend picking up samples of the oils to make sure you like it before parting with your hard earned pennies!  Whatever your skin type, there's something for everyone.
