June Favourites

June Favourites Are you ready for the standard introduction to a monthly favourites? I cannot believe that we are now in July, how did that happen? We are now officially in the second half of 2014...which makes the total winter obsessive in me get slightly excited. That aside June was a wonderful month for me, I went on my summer holiday and when I came home the sun decided to shine in Glasgow too! I'm very excited to share this months favourites with you as we have some brand new additions and some old favourites too.

I have been so repetitive this month with my make-up, but sometimes if you feel something works then it's OK to stick with it. I've been sporting a pinky/nude lip with a polished base and neutral winged liner, with lots of mascara. My handy Laura Mercier Petite Eye Colour Trio has been the only shadow combination I've been reaching for, the shades are just so easy to work with. Alongside the neutral shadows I've been adding my usual winged liner and then applying lashings of the Cover Girl Flamed Up Mega Curl Mascara this stuff is AMAZING, it's literally fool proof and really builds so well to give amazing fluttery lashes. Finally on my makeup menu has been the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Nova, I was recently maid of honour at my best friends wedding and this was the shade I wore on my lips for the big day, and I've not used anything else really since, it's the perfect everyday shade.

It's no secret that I love practically anything vanilla so the Liz Earl Vanilla & Saffron Cream Shower Nectar* is literally heaven in a bottle. The formula of this is gorgeous, and a little goes such a long way...but it's the smell, if you like vanilla at all then please go smell this. I'm not usually a regular tanner, but I've quite enjoyed the (very) slight glow my holiday has left me with and to maintain it I thought I'd give the Dove Summer Glow Body Moisturiser a try. This is hands down the best gradual tanner I've ever used, it glides on easily, leaves my skin feeling really hydrated and develops into an even, subtle, stink free glow. When the weather gets warmer I like to opt for a lighter fragrance for day to day, the Le Soft Perfume in La Reine Soleil* is the perfect alternative to heavy sprays. This is a really feminine soft scent that sticks around all day.

I mentioned that I suffered from a bit of a nasty reaction to a facial sun cream when I was on holiday, and there was two products that soothed, fixed and kissed my skin better. The La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo and Mario Badescu Facial Spray are my skincare hero's, and the funny thing is that after continuing to use these daily weeks after my breakout my skin is actually better than it was before, wonderful.

My final favourite is something a little different, I'm sure everyone and there grannie has caught wind of the new 'water infusing' trend that's sweeping our instagram feeds, so I thought I'd give it a try. The result? Some pretty tasty water (and the perfect photo op). This is actually a really clever way to not only get yourself drinking more water, but also about getting the most from fruit and veg, I can't wait to experiment with more flavour combinations, this one was Strawberry & Kiwi.

So a big cheerio to June, and hello to July...and it being one step closer to Christmas Autumn...sorry I can't help myself.
