Ciaté Hopscotch

Ciate Hopscotch

During Winter, my brighter polishes have been a little neglected so I thought it was about time I put away the dark shades and opted for something bright and bold.  What better shade to choose than orange, which if the Debenhams SS14 show told us anything, is definitely in this upcoming season.  My nail polish choice of the week is Ciaté's Hopscotch.

This weeks choice came from my Ciaté Mini Mani Month calendar which I wrote a full post about but long story short, an advent calendar containing 24 mini Ciaté shades.  It's a bright reddish toned orange with a glossy finish which really stands out against my pale skin.

Sadly it isn't one of those swipe and go polishes, for an opaque finish this one requires about 3 coats to be just right.  Luckily it has quite a thin, runny texture so you can layer up without worrying about applying too much and smudging.  If it sounds too much of a hassle, Illamasqua Whack and OPI's Roll In The Hague are pretty good dupes.

After applying many layers I'm glad to say it lasted really well on the nails, no chipping in sight!  Though I would say be careful on the first day as I did manage to smudge one nail which hadn't fully set.  Time to break out the bright lipsticks!

What have you been wearing on your nails this week?
