Hydrating Lip Balms

Carmex Lip Balm, Bomb Cosmetics Lip Locker, Bomb Cosmetics Bubblegum Pop and Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips
Carmex Lip Pot Original (£2.69, Boots)
Bomb Cosmetics Lip Locker and Bubblegum Pop Lip Balm (£2.49)
Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips (£11.50, Space NK)

Recently I've found myself having extremely dry and chapped lips that just wouldn't budge.  It meant that I couldn't wear lipstick for a while and my stash has been truly neglected.  Now before I finally allowed myself to pick up the much raved about Nuxe Reve De Miel, I managed to resist as this hydrating trio of lip balms saviours showed up at my door just in time to sort out the problem.  Here's what I think of them.

For the everyday lip balm you can't go wrong with Carmex Lip Balms.  These have been around for ages but strangely it's taken me 22 years to get on board.  If you've never tried it, it has a gorgeous honey scent and a really smooth texture.  I also like that it has a hint of menthol in it which makes your lips tingle a little and keeps them hydrated throughout the day.  It's not too thick so it's a perfect base to lipstick.

If you're after a lip balm with a hint of scent/flavour I've really been enjoying Lip Locker and Bubblegum Pop by Bomb Cosmetics.  I really like the fun packaging and they both smell amazing!  I actually find the scents quite nostalgic as Lip Locker smells exactly like those blue raspberry ice poles I used to have all the time in the summer.  Bubblegum Pop is like that huge roll of pink bubblegum I'd always beg for when I went to Woolworths as a kid.  I'd say it's just as hydrating as Carmex but with a slightly thinner texture.

Last when you're ready to give up hope and no other lip balm will do the job, enter the Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips.  I don't think I've ever came across a lip balm as thick as this one, you need the tiniest amount!  I'd recommend it for those who have sensitive skin as it's 100% natural, hypoallergenic, tasteless and odourless.  I personally wouldn't wear it everyday due to how thick it is but it's always handy to have for lip hydration emergencies or applying before bed.
