Essie Nail Polish Collection

Essie Nail Polish Collection

It's safe to say I have a bit of a nail polish addiction.  Some people collect coins, I collect nail polish!  Compared to my Nails Inc Collection (Part 1, Part 2) my Essie Collection is pretty modest with 9 of my most loved shades ranging from pastels to bright and bold shades so what better time than to bring them out just in time for Spring!

Essie Maximillian Strasse Her, Essie Mint Candy Apple and Essie Muchi, Muchi.

Maximillian Strasse Her:  I always have some form of nail polish on my hands but sometimes I just can't be bothered with glitter and bright shades so whenever that time comes, I always reach for this.  It's the perfect grey, neutral shade meaning it's a little softer than black but not quite as plain as a nude shade.  Plus it goes with every outfit!

Mint Candy Apple: I'm sure you all remember the hype about Mint Candy Apple and it's been hiding away amongst the dark shades, ready to come out for Spring.  You can't get a better mint green shade in my opinion and the name instantly makes me want mint chocolate ice cream!

Muchi, Muchi: I believe Muchi, Muchi was one of my first Essie shades I purchased, choosing it over the much hyped Fiji.  As with all nude shades you definitely have to put on 2-3 coats and it can sometimes be a little difficult to work with but if you apply it well it gives a lovely result.  I believe I actually wore this shade to my graduation.

Essie Bond With Whomever, Essie Full Steam Ahead, Essie Bikini So Teeny

Bond With Whomever: I don't own too many lilac shades so I was happy I managed to pick up this shade for only £1.99!  It has a slight pink undertone which makes it a little different but it's just an easy shade to wear.

Full Steam Ahead: This is the newest addition to my collection that I received at an event last month.  I originally thought Full Steam Ahead* would be identical to Bond With Whomever but it has a lot more of a blue tone to it.  It's a shade from the Spring/Summer Collection 2013 and if you look really closely you can see tiny speckles of shimmer running through the shade.

Bikini So Teeny: This shade needs no introduction, Bikini So Teeny was the number 1 most hyped shade not too long ago but I can definitely understand why.  It's a gorgeous dusky blue shade with the same shimmer as Full Steam Ahead and this stuff can last a full week on my nails without any sign of chipping.  You know how you never finish a nail polish? This is actually my third bottle of the stuff, that says it all!

Essie Avenue Maintain, Essie Madison Ave-Hue, Essie Hip-Anema

Avenue Maintain: I originally wasn't expecting too much from this shade but it's absolutely gorgeous.  It somehow manages to be bold yet muted at the same time, not to mention very easy to apply on the nails.  Great bargain for £1.99 too!

Madison Ave-Hue: I'm not sure what possessed me to buy this shade because I'm not usually one for pink but I'm glad I did.  If you want a perfect summer beach holiday shade, this is it.  It has those gorgeous shimmer tones running through it so I think once it gets a little warmer I'll be sporting this on the toes.

Hip-Anema: Everyone needs a classic red but sadly not this one.  While it does give off a beautiful shade and it looks like a good all rounder, sadly it chips like crazy.  If you're looking for a good Essie alternative, check out Snap Happy.

There you have it, my Essie nail polish collection!  I hope you've found a few new shades to try and if you are looking to buy, I'd recommend you check out Fragrance Direct for amazing discounts on Essie.  You can also have a browse through Ebay and Amazon but make sure you check reviews before you buy!
