March Favourites

March Favourites: Laura Mercier Signature Creme Brulee Candle, Estee Lauder Idealist Serum, Sunday Riley Skin Adrenaline, MAC Vegas Volt, La Roche-Posay Effaclar Micro Exfoliant and Drink Me Chai Spiced Chai Latte

It's favourites time! Now don't get me wrong, I love that it's starting to get brighter outside but one thing I don't love is how it's sunny and cold at the same time.  It's a constant struggle to choose between a thin blazer and my warm winter coat!  Now aside from the first world problems, we've had quite the hectic month.  Therefore this months favourites is all about skincare saviours, relaxing scents, tea breaks and the odd bright lipstick thrown in to uplift the spirits, enjoy!

Now I'm not usually one for sweet scented candles, but the Laura Mercier Signature Creme Brulee Candle is a game changer.  I actually bought this way back in July during the Space NK Sale but as winter was coming it's been stocked away in my cupboard for Spring.  You'll never find a candle that burns as well as this one does, plus it doesn't take long for the scent to fill the room so it's definitely going to last me a long time.  Always nice to have a change from my usual spicy scented candles!

This month my skin has been a little bit crazy.  One minute it's in the best condition and the next day I wake up to huge sore spots.  As we had a very exciting photoshoot coming up with Rimmel London, I knew I had to go in full on skincare mode and the product that I can always rely on is the Sunday Riley Skin Adrenaline* to fix the problem.  I could be having the worst skin day ever but a few drops of this stuff at night and my face is literally transformed, it's fantastic stuff.  I'm almost near the end of the bottle which is very upsetting as I'd never dream of spending that much money on skincare, it's just not in my budget, but maybe if I win the lottery one day I can repurchase it!

Speaking of the photoshoot, the one thing we were worried about is keeping our oily skin at bay but a few drops of Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Serum and our skin is left as soft as anything and oil free for a full day of shooting.  I first discovered this stuff flicking through Glamour magazine and after trying the tiny sample sachet, I've been repurchasing it ever since.  Not necessarily for the pore minimizing aspect but it just makes your makeup glide on effortlessly.  I only use this for special occasions as it is pricey but it makes such a difference.

For the past few months my lipstick collection has been rather neglected.  During the colder months the last thing you want to do is battle with chapped lips and lipstick so I've mostly been going without any lipstick at all.  Now that the sun is out I've been looking out my bright lipsticks and one of my all time favourites is MAC Vegas Volt.  It's just such a flattering colour and the amplified finish really makes the shade stand out.  For days where I don't want to put on too much colour, I also dab a small amount on the lips for a more subtle finish.

I recently introduced an exfoliating toner into my skincare routine and I can't believe what I was missing out on!  The La Roche-Posay Effaclar Micro Exfoliant just sweeps away those dead skin cells and my face has never felt smoother.  It really helps unblock the pores and it's managed to bring blackheads to the surface I never even knew existed.  La Roche-Posay is starting to take over the majority of my skincare routine including makeup removal, toning and moisturising so I think I may have to take advantage of Escentuals 1/3 off French skincare before I miss out!

Last but not least for the non beauty favourite, my new obsession is Chai Tea.  After trying out and finishing my Teapigs Chai Tea I knew I had to pick up more but as Teapigs can get a little pricey I had a look around for alternatives.  While browsing the tea aisle in Sainsburys I came across the Drink Me Chai Spiced Chai Latte for only £2 so I picked it up to try at home.  This stuff is amazing!  All you do is add 3 teaspoons of the Chai powder in with hot water and milk, stir and enjoy.  I've already used about half of the tub so I think I'll definitely need to pick up more soon.  I also like the fact that you can use the powder in baking so I think I'll definitely be making some Chai flavoured cupcakes in the future!

That's it for March favourites, what have you been loving this month?
