The Scotsman Hotel Aveda Spa

Scotsman Hotel Spa Pool

After our big blog redesign, we were in need of some much needed relaxation time.  What better way than to take a trip to the capital for a day of pampering at The Scotsman Hotel Aveda Spa.  Situated minutes away from Edinburgh Waverly Station, we made our way to the spa, crossing bridges in the beautiful 5* hotel, overlooking their impressive swimming pool for our Stress-Fix Massage*.

The Stress-Fix™ Massage is: "Clinically proven to reduce feelings of stress, the Stress-Fix™ aroma with lavender, lavandin and clary sage is incorporated throughout this body massage that combines Swedish and deep tissue massage with foot reflexology, acupressure points and a guided meditation to calm and
rejuvenate you."

The Stress-Fix Massage is tailored to your needs.  We were asked which kind of pressure we like and which area of the body we'd like the masseuse to focus on.  We were also shown the oils they would be using to make sure we liked the scents.  Our treatment lasted for 45 minutes (£65) but you can go for 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes for different prices.  You can find a list of treatments on offer here.

After our massage, there was no sense of rush to leave straight after our treatment.  We were whisked away to the Relaxation Room where they wrap you up in these comfy beds with a wide choice of magazines and a cup of Aveda's Comforting Tea, a herbal blend of peppermint and licorice which was lovely and refreshing.  Of course we had to have a shot in the bubble chair too!  It was a really nice touch and helped prepared ourselves before we stepped out into the busy Edinburgh streets.

We had a lovely time at the spa and if you're ever in the Edinburgh area needing a place to unwind, definitely visit the Scotsman Hotel Aveda Spa.  Now, time to locate more of that fabulous tea.

Disclaimer: We were invited by The Scotsman Hotel to try out the treatment in which we received our massages complimentary.  We were not asked to write this review and our opinions are entirely our own.

Such a gorgeous place, we wished we could have stayed longer! Luckily on the day we went last Monday it was extremely quiet on the streets of Edinburgh so might be best to avoid weekends. We almost fell asleep on the train back to Glasgow we were so relaxed! x

  2. Every time I see The Scotsman Hotel I want to go in and try out their spa but I always get distracted. I'm not entirely sure I can go from being so relaxed to having to fight my way through Edinburgh though.
