Products of the Year: Skincare & Haircare 2013

Skincare and Haircare Beauty Products of the Year 2013

As 2013 draws to an end, we’ve been getting a little nostalgic and looking back at what products have really gone the extra mile this year. So obviously we thought we’d share our favourites with you guys, today’s picks are our haircare and skincare heroes!

Lush Ultrabland Cleanser:
This product only entered my hands earlier this month but it’s made me actually enjoy the skincare cleansing process.  It’s rebalanced my oily skin and kept the breakouts to a minimum, the full size is already heading my way. - S

Eau Thermale Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser: This would literally suit everyone.  I’ve never found a more gentle, yet effective cleanser.  It soothes and calms the skin, but still gives a really deep clean.  I can’t see myself going without this ever again! - L

La Roche-Posay Effaclar H:
A moisturiser for oily skin made sensitive by over drying skincare.  I never thought I’d find something so specific to my skincare needs but this ticks all the boxes.  Great for under makeup and keeping the skin hydrated throughout the day, I only wish it came in a larger size. - S

Clinique Dramatically Different: This was definitely a surprising rediscovery for me.  I tried this a couple of years ago and wasn’t really that fussed with it.  However, after trying out a sample earlier in the year I was blown away.  It’s so hydrating and plumping, without driving my oily skin crazy.  The full size was repurchased straight away and has since been replaced. - L

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion:
The treatment which always shows a difference has to be the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion.  If you’re prone to angry red spots, pop a little bit of this on and the next day the redness will be gone.  I definitely want to try more of their skincare range. - S

Nourish Argan Rescue Oil: Oils have definitely been a hot topic in 2013, and this is my all time favourite.  I discovered this at the end of last year and it has been repurchased again and again.  It’s one of the only skincare items I have that actually make a visible difference from first use, and it smells gorgeous too. - L

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette:
Wonderful hair care range for brunettes.  Keeps the colour vibrant and glossy, doesn’t weigh down the hair and has everything from shampoo/conditioner to hairspray just for brunettes. - S

Aussie Miracle Shine: Who doesn’t love a good drug store buy?  This brand has been a bathroom staple in my household for years and this is my favourite formula.  It leaves my hair shiny, manageable, nourished and smelling amazing! - L

Styling Product
KMS California Freeshape Quick Blow Dry Spray:
The must have haircare product for those who hate drying their hair.  This stuff has saved me so much time and I’m now on my 3rd or 4th bottle of the stuff. - S

Phyto 7 Hydrating Cream: I have really long thick hair that’s quite dry at the ends, and if I’m needing an instant boost of nourishment this is my guy.  This is never out of my handbag and has replaced my love of hairspray.  It’s also great to use on wet hair too before blow drying and last forever. - L

Electrical Hair Tools
Enrapture Totem Styler:
We were both in agreement on this one.  The Enrapture Totem Styler makes curling your hair so easy.  With many different heat settings you can achieve multiple looks with the one tool so it’s definitely great value for money.

So that is our best of the best in terms of skincare and haircare for 2013. We would love to know what you guys have loved this year so be sure to leave us a comment below!  We hope you all have an amazing New Years Eve and we will be back tomorrow with the second part of our picks of 2013!
