TGI Fridays Glasgow Cocktails/Art Event

Tgi Fridays Glasgow

To celebrate the launch of TGI Friday’s new cocktail menu, last Thursday we were invited along to the Glasgow venue for an evening of cocktail tasting and live art creations, not too bad for a Thursday night!  To celebrate the menu launch, 100 bespoke artworks are being created from the inspiration of the 100 cocktails on offer, inspired by the colours, flavours and origins included in the menu.  While the art creators were working their magic we did get stuck in with a little bit of art creation ourselves, though after a few cocktails it’s safe to say our attempts were ..interesting.  Here’s what happened.

From the amazing menu we were able to sample a few of the cocktails on offer and decided to give some of the new creations on offer a try first.  Canada Goose was definitely a favourite on the night of all the Scottish bloggers with Grey Goose Vodka, Amaretto, Cherry Brandy, Maple Syrup, Cranberry and Citrus Juices and also notable was Jack’s Southern Belle with Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey with fresh mint, sugar and a dash of Angostura bitters.

On the art side, there were amazing nail art designs on offer from Boom Nails, though sadly we were unable to try due to how popular it was, and probably us being distracted by all the amazing artwork being created around us.   One of our favourite creations of the night was from illustrator Cat Ingall who hand crafted a paper cutting design which transformed from a piece of card to such an intricate design over the course of the evening.  Sadly we had to leave before the finished design but you’ll see what we mean when you check out her portfolio.

Now time for us to get stuck in and put our arty talents into use.. with some good old fashioned potato printing!  A whole table was set up for all the guests to create their own canvas bags with tons of stencils and shapes to choose from.  Rather than being too adventurous, we kept it quite simple but the attempt isn't too bad after a few cocktails is it?  At least we’ll keep telling ourselves that before someone comes to take our art degrees back.  All in all it was such a lovely night to spend with our fellow Scottish bloggers, the lovely TGIs staff and event organisers.  Now time for another Canada Goose..
