October Favourites 2013

October Favourites 2013

The end of another month means only one thing for us bloggers, a new set of favourite products. This is without doubt my favourite time of year, I love the dark cosy nights, the spicy sweet scents and warm fashionable layers. So my preferred products for this month are definitely in keeping with those themes and I have a few little added treats in there too!

Halloween Candles

It’s no big surprise that I love candles, who doesn’t? But the best candles are always available around this time of year. I've really enjoyed adding some Halloween touches to my bedroom d├ęcor by using themed candles and spicy pumpkin scents, I’ll be very sad to replace these when the Halloween festivities are over. My favourite candles have been the pumpkin candle, skull candle and Wax Lyrical tin candle all from Morrisons. The scent of the Wax Lyrical one is AMAZING, I can't stop burning this and the other two are really fun and in keeping perfectly with the spooky Halloween theme. The big jar candle is from TK Maxx and is the For Every Body Pumpkin Spice Candle, the most beautiful rich warm scent, and these jars are brilliant to keep after the candle is finished. Then my favourite little mini Yankee Candle in Sparkling Cinnamon at the front fills the room with scent quicker than any other candle I own. If your looking to tap into different themes or occasions but dont want to invest to much effort or money into buying decorations then candles are a really easy way to transform your space!

Korres Japanese Rose Showergel and Label M Leave-In Conditioner

I can’t see myself ever falling out of love with Korres, and the Japanese Rose Showergel is my latest love affair with the brand. Sami got me this for my birthday this year and as the weather has cooled this has been my perfect shower companion. It’s rich warm scent is perfect for this time of year, and it also bubbles up in the bath really well too. And as with all Korres shower gels, the formula is amazing, rich, creamy and leaves behind just the right amount of scent on the skin not to be too overpowering. When I first tried the Label M Leave-In Conditioner* I wasn’t sure. The idea of putting a conditioner in my hair and not rinsing it out seemed a little strange. However, for the past month or so I have used this every time I’ve washed my hair and I love it. As it’s so light it gives great nourishment to the hair, whilst leaving it bouncy, which is great as I have really long thick hair so need products that aren’t going to weigh it down. If your looking for a light weight conditioner that works, then I’d give this a try!

Vaseline Essential Moisture Cocoa Radiant and Nude Pro Genius Treatment Oil

As the weathers changed my skin has really started to dry out, and every time I’ve moisturised I have reached for the Vaseline Essential Moisture Cocoa Radiant*. This stuff is so rich, yet easily absorbed it’s wonderful. It smells delicious and really just works. Great value for money and a really great product to have on hand at this time of the year. As with limbs, my face has started to feel the dehydrating effects of the not so great weather we have had recently. My fail safe skincare hero is always the Nude Pro Genius Treatment Oil* I love massaging a few drops of this into my skin before bed, as I know by morning my skin will have had the tlc it needs. This is one of the very few products in my skincare routine that gives me visible results the morning after, and you can’t argue with that really can you?

Sephora Eyeshadow in Meet Me at Midnight and Nars Lipstick in Mayflower

I chatted all about my Autumn make-up bag a couple of weeks ago and I’m doing well with sticking to those staples, however these two have crept their way into the bag after being rediscovered on a night out. This Sephora Eyeshadow in Meet Me at Midnight is the perfect smoky eye shade for this time of year. It’s a murky/purple/grey shade that suits my pale complexion and green eyes really well. No faffing required with this as it’s a one sweep wonder and has a lovely silver glitter through it too. The Nars Lipstick in Mayflower has been a staple in my make-up collection since the beginning of this year, its a very easy to work with shade that creates a plump, healthy looking lip. This is a rosy shade with a touch of shimmer that amps up a mundane everyday makeup look, or gives a subtle glow on a night out, I love it.

APC Necklace, Michael Kors Very Hollywood Perfume and Cadbury's Drinking Chocolate

This APC Necklace has been an accessory staple for me this past month, any time I’ve needed a necklace I’ve reached for this one, I love the simple design and gold jewellery is my favourite. Michael Kors Very Hollywood Perfume has been a favourite of mine for years after getting it as a Christmas gift one year, I love the glamorous bottle and the scent is warm, feminine and fresh. I’ve been spritzing this all month and can see it getting popped back onto my Christmas list again this year. Finally, nothing says Autumn/Winter quite like a hot chocolate and when I’m at home nothing compares to Cadbury’s Drinking Chocolate. I love making this with milk and adding a little touch of cinnamon to really give it an autumnal feel. It may not be the healthiest of drinks, but if ever theres a time of year to indulge and treat yourself, then this is it.

So that’s my lot for this month, I can’t wait to see what new favourites the rest of the festive months bring. Let me know what you guys have been loving this month.  Now I think it’s time for one of those special hot chocolates…
