High End Blushers

High End Blushers Featuring Clarins, Nars, Burberry and Clinique

Although I do love my budget blushers, I love saving up for the beautifully designed, higher end alternatives for special occasions.  Complete with a huge mirror for on the go touch ups, the brush you’ll never use and occasionally a fancy design in the powder.  There’s just something a little bit more special about using them which you don’t seem to get with the plastic packaging.  I don’t have a huge collection by any means but here are a few of my high end picks.

First off is the one we’ve all heard about, the NARS Blush in Orgasm which is a cult favourite in the beauty world.  NARS are known for having some of the best blushers around but if I’m honest, I think the shade Orgasm takes a little too much credit and has been overused to death.  While the pink and golden shimmery blush does look lovely on everyone, I don’t find myself reaching for it as much as I thought I would.  I don’t think anyone can deny the quality or pigmentation of their blushers but it might be worth trying out another shade in their huge collection.  If there’s one thing I can say about this blush, it lasts forever!

One of my first high end blushers I bought was the Clinique Blushing Blush in Sunset Glow.  I don’t think Clinique get a lot of hype around their blushers but this one is really lovely.  The shade isn’t too far off being a dupe for Orgasm but the pigmentation is a lot stronger than the NARS favourite.  With the colour being so strong, it can be quite harsh on my pale skin so I have to be really careful with the amount my brush picks up but if you’re a little more tanned, you should have no problems.  As you can see I’ve already hit pan which isn’t something that happens too often so it’s definitely been a much loved shade in my collection.

I was really excited to try out the Burberry Light Glow Blush in Coral Pink* when the opportunity came around.  It has such a stunning design that I almost feel like I need to wait for a special occasion to use it.  The shade is a lot more matte than the previous two which makes it perfect to wear during the daytime.  Again like the others, the pigmentation is wonderful but I find it a lot easier to blend out the colour for a more subtle look than the previous picks.

If you’re after a work appropriate blush, the Clarins Graphic Expression Face & Blush Powder is a perfect choice.  It has a mix of light beige, darker beige and coral to add a lovely glow to your cheeks.  Of course you can change the way it looks by focusing more on the coral side or the beige side depending on what look you’re after.  It did also have a gold stripe but it was an overspray so it won’t last for too long if you prefer a matte finish anyway.  Very easy to apply and not to mention, the design is stunning and even comes with a little pouch.  This one is limited edition so make sure you can get your hands on it while you can!

There you have it, my high end blushers.  I’d say the one I reach for the most these days has to be the Clarins one as it’s such an easy colour to wear.  Let me know what high end blushers you’ve been loving lately.
