Clinique Bonus Time at House of Fraser

Clinique Bonus Time

Back when my foundation of choice was Clinique’s Anti-Blemish Foundation (which is still amazing), I’d always wait till Bonus Time was around before repurchasing.  I’m a big believer in getting your moneys worth and whenever I'm shopping I always look around for the best deals and offer codes before making a purchase.  If you're not familiar with Clinique Bonus Time, it’s basically means if you buy a certain amount of items during the bonus time you'll get to walk away with a gift with purchase which usually includes a lovely makeup bag with a handful of mini Clinique products inside.  While Bonus Time doesn't start till the 31st in House of Fraser, I do have the gift with purchase* already so here’s a little sneak peek of what to expect.

As you can see the makeup bag has a really fun print with lots of bright colours.  I think it’s quite a generous size so it’s perfect if you're like me and you feel like you need to carry 5 lipsticks and 3 mascaras with you.  It’s made of polyester so it’s very easy to clean and your makeup won’t ruin the inside.

As for the contents of the bag, it features 5 generous samples ranging from makeup to skincare so there’s definitely something for everyone.  For skin care we have the Repairwear Uplifting SPF 15 Firming Cream which is a really lovely lightweight moisturiser.  Usually to buy the full 50ml size, it would set you back £52 so to get a 15ml sample is very generous! Feels lovely on the skin and I’m looking forward to trying it out more.

Next is the Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream.  I haven’t really found an eye cream that works so I’m looking forward to trying this one out.  It’s quite a thick cream but blends into the skin really well so you’ll only need a tiny bit.  I find its quite cooling around the eye area so hopefully it will help me look/feel a little less tired in the mornings!  I do think the skincare in the gift with purchase is a little more aimed at older skin but it can't hurt to add in a little bit of anti-aging every now and then.

One product I’m very familiar with is the Take The Day Off Makeup Remover.  I’ve gone through so many of these in the past few years.  For really stubborn mascara or dark lipstick this stuff takes it off so effortlessly and if you’re quite clumsy like me, the childproof-like cap means it won’t spill everywhere.  It does have quite an oily consistency so I’d reserve it for just taking off eye makeup and lipstick.

If you’ve been reading Beauty Aesthetic for quite a while you’ll know how highly I rate Clinique mascaras (having tried about 90% of them) and their High Impact Mascara is probably one of my all time favourites.  The brush doesn’t look all that special but it gives the most gorgeous long lovely separated lashes with the perfect amount of volume and I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t love it.  I actually prefer the smaller size mascara wand and used to stock up on them every time a Clinique offer was on as it gives you a little more control of the brush, if only they sold them this size!  Quite honestly, the set is worth it just for this mascara.

Last but not least is a lipstick addition, their Almost Lipstick in the shade Luscious Honey.  I’d never tried any of Cliniques lipsticks before so I was really looking forward to trying it out.  I think this is a great addition to the set as it’s a sheer lipstick so it’s extremely wearable on everyone.  I’d say it applies quite like a tinted lip balm but you can definitely build up the colour.  Luscious Honey is a pinky red shade which gives a really lovely flush to the lips.  It applies effortlessly, isn’t too dramatic so it would be a great work appropriate lipstick.  I’m not too sure if everyone will get the same shade but I’m sure you’ll get something that suits you.

If you like the sound of the gift with purchase, head down to the Clinique counter in House of Fraser from Thursday 31st October - Saturday 16th November to take advantage of the offer.  To quality you need to purchase any two or more Clinique products in store but one has to be skincare and you’ll receive the free gift!  There’s plenty of time to decide which two products to purchase but I’d be more than happy to recommend a few if you leave a comment below with what you’re after.  I’ve used quite a lot of their products over the years but I would say their foundations, blushers and mascaras are probably their best products to begin with in my opinion.  Happy shopping!
