August Favourites 2013

August Favourites

It’s been so long since I’ve popped up a monthly favourites post that I thought it was about time I got back into the swing of them. I can’t believe it’s nearly September. Part of me is sad that summer is coming to an end, but a bigger part of me is super excited that autumn is on it’s way. Ramble aside here is what I have been loving throughout August.

Library of Flowers - True Vanilla Perfume

Library of Flowers - True Vanilla Perfume

Everytime I go on holiday, I always treat myself to a new perfume and that way it means the scent will always remind me of my trip. I am a little obsessed with perfume, especially if it’s something a bit different, so when I spotted this when I was in Vegas this year it was love at first sight. Cute girlie packaging, unusual brand and a whole scent dedicated to vanilla. It had to be mine. Once you stop swooning over the packaging and actually get in and have a sniff of this stuff you will be hooked. It’s sweet, bold and slightly fruity. Definitely one to be used sparingly though as it’s very strong. It’s like a grown up, deep version of a traditional sweet scent and I just can't stop sniffing it!

Revlon Colour Stay Foundation - Buff

Revlon Colour Stay Foundation - Buff

I’ve had a bit of a fall out with primers recently, they just keep breaking me out no matter what brand I use! So this month I’ve really needed a foundation that’s going to work hard and this has worked it’s socks off to keep me looking flawless, matte and imperfection free all day long. Don’t get me wrong this stuff is a nightmare to apply and blend out, but once you’ve got the hang of it it’s so worth it. This gives a medium-high coverage that’s really matte and lasts all day! I wouldn’t recommend this if you like a dewy or light finish at all as it’s so matte. This little beaut has already been repurchased and will definitely be my foundation of choice right through till winter.

Urban Decay Moondust Eye shadow - Zodiac

Urban Decay Moondust Eye shadow - Zodiac*

We all love a bit of glitter, but sometimes I feel it can look quite tacky or childish. However, the moondust shadows from Urban Decay are anything but tacky or childish. This is the most gorgeous, sophisticated and user friendly glitter shadow I’ve ever tried. This shade is a deep murky green packed with sparkles and is so finely milled it glides on like silk, leaving eyes smoky, sparkly with not a trace of tackiness in sight. I’ve used this shadow on every single night out this summer, which is a sure sign I love it as I usually never use anything but brown on my eyes! I’m so tempted to pick up the Space Cowboy shade and possibly a few more…

Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Honey Bath

Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Honey Bath

In the big shower/bath debate, I’m a bath girl every time and let me tell you nothing makes bath time more luxurious than this. The cute packaging looks great propped on any bathtub and one swirl of this into warm running water takes your everyday bath to another level. If you don’t like honey or sweet scents then maybe try something else as the scent is really strong, but for me that’s a good thing. This bubbles up beautifully and leave skin feeling moisturised and pampered.

Phyto 7 Hydrating Day Cream

Phyto 7 Hydrating Day Cream

This is my new handbag essential. I picked this up with no expectations really as not many products actually make a difference to my hair. The best way to describe this product is that it’s like a hand cream…for your hair. It’s really light with almost no scent and once applied it leaves behind no build up or anything. This has really helped breathe some life back into my tired ends and I don’t think there’s been a single day I’ve not used this since I bought it.

Essie Nail Polish - Play Date

Essie Nail Polish - Play Date

Another holiday purchase (there is definitely a theme here), this is literally summer in a nail varnish for me. It’s bright, bold and makes me so happy when I wear it on my nails! As with all essie polishes it’s great quality and lasts quite well. But it’s the colour that gives this guy favourite status!

Marc by Marc Jacobs Steel Gold Watch

Marc by Marc Jacobs Steel Gold Watch

Meet my new arm candy, isn’t it beautiful? I still love my Michael Kors watch, but I wanted something a little different so when I spotted this on holiday it had to be mine! I love the bright pop of blue and the simple face design. I think it’s really sleek and fuss free and perfect for everyday wear, I haven’t had this off since I brought it home.

Bcbgeneration 'Peace' Affirmation Bracelet

Bcbgeneration ‘Peace’ Affirmation Bracelet

This is my second new piece of arm candy, also picked up on my adventures in Vegas. I love the colour of this as it goes with everything, and the gold details give it a glamorous feel. This is so easy to just throw on and I wish i’d picked this up in more colours when I had the chance!

So that is everything I have been loving this month. I cannot wait till these monthly favourites get more and more wintery in the months to come! What have you guys been loving this month?
