Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils

A review of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils in Rockstar and Delinquent

One of the first products I ever tried were pencil eyeliners, having gone through a bit of an emo stage in my teenage years.  These days it’s not so much Taylor Momsen panda eyes, but a more subtle pop of colour to add definition to the eye area.  Though instead of the traditional black or brown eyeliner, I’ve found purple eyeliners to be a great transitional colour to introduce a bit of colour into my routine.  My choice of purple eyeliners at the moment are the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils in Rockstar and Delinquent.

There are very few eyeliners which actually last on the waterline and Urban Decay are definitely my favourite.  I first discovered them when I received the duo ended eyeliner from the Naked 1 palette and I’ve been hooked ever since.  Almost to the point where I was tempted to get the full 15 year anniversary set when it came out! Though the real obsession began when I first tried Rockstar.

A review of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils in Rockstar and Delinquent

I’m not sure how I came to own Rockstar, I think it may have been in a palette but I have no memory of where it came from.  Rockstar is a purple sort of aubergine (eggplant) shade with dark brown tones to it which makes it a great daytime colour.  It’s sort of inbetween a black and brown.  From the picture you can see it has a little bit of glitter to it but it’s very subtle when you have it on.  I've had this for ages and it barely looks like I've used it at all so they last a really long time.

Delinquent* is the most recent eyeliner I’ve tried and as you can see it’s got a lot more glitter than Rockstar.  It actually used to be an exclusive shade but they’ve now brought it out as a full-sized pencil.  It’s sort of a black shade with a purple shimmer to it so I’d use this as more of a night-time eyeliner.  Although the glitter looks very dramatic here, trust me it’s not as scary in real life!  I think this is a gorgeous shade on the waterline as it makes your eyes look all bright and sparkly, especially if you have brown eyes.  Aside from the waterline, I think you could probably use it on the outer corners of your eyes and blend it into your eyeshadow for a more dramatic effect.

After trying these two I definitely have my eye on some more purple/brown toned shades such as Empire, Vice and Demolition as they’ve recently expanded the collection with 40 choices of eyeliners.  Definitely get down to your nearest counter if you’re looking for something a little different.  The 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils are £14 and available at Debenhams and House of Fraser.
