Bourjois Cream Blush

Bourjois Cream Blush in 01 Nude Velvet and 03 Rose Tender

When it comes to cream blushers, I usually stay away.  I’d always found them a bit of a mystery as I’m used to applying blusher over powder so I was never really sure what the correct method was to using them.  I’d tried the dap and blend with finger method but it always looked a bit messy and I’d end up ruining my foundation in the process.  Since my new Real Techniques Stippling brush arrived, I’ve figured out a method I love and have been cream blusher mad ever since.  My latest cream blusher obsession is the new Cream Blushers* by Bourjois.

If you go to Bourjois, you'd probably be heading straight for the blushers.  Those little round pots have been around for so long and everyone goes crazy when new additions are added.  I’m pretty sure I still have a few from the Paris collection, they last forever!

The latest addition to the collection is these Cream Blushers which come in 4 different shades.  Here I have 01 in Nude Velvet and 03 in Rose Tender.

Bourjois Cream Blush in 01 Nude Velvet and 03 Rose Tender

Nude Velvet is a shade which I’ve never come across before.  I’d describe it as a sort of orange toned pink, which is great for bringing a bit of warmth to the face.  Where as Rose Tender is your more traditional rosy pink which gives your skin a sort of inner glow to it.  It also has a slight shimmer to it, whereas Nude Velvet is more of a matte finish.

Compared to the little round blusher pots, the packaging is a smaller and thinner, which might put people off but I think they’re a great size.  For those who want to experiment in cream blushers but don’t want to spend a fortune, or buy a larger product to find they don’t like it, it’s perfect.  It also has a mirror so it’s the perfect product to use on the go or to fit in your make up bag.

The application itself is really lovely.  The blushers apply in a sort of cream to powder way and it never looks cakey when applied.  When I use it with the stippling brush it provides the perfect application and in my opinion it looks more natural than powder blushers.

As I’m going through a pretty bad breakout at the moment, I thought it best not to show it on to save you all the horror but I’ll direct you to Ysis’ post who has the same shades so you can see what it looks like on.

If I had to choose out of the two, I’d probably go for Rose Tender as it’s a colour I’d usually use more and it really compliments my pale skin.

I'm really enjoying using them and I think I'll have to pick up a few more shades!
