Travelling Light

Wash Bag - Illuminati

So I’m jetting off to Amsterdam tomorrow for a long weekend and quite frankly, I cannot wait. Time away is exactly what I need at the moment as the stress of fourth year at uni is definitely beginning to take its toll.  With this in mind I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to share with you all the contents of my travel wash bag, and I must say, I'm pretty proud of my efforts.  Usually I am a serial over packer, but as we are only taking hand luggage on with us I really had to be strict with myself and only take the ‘essentials’. Here is what I’ve taken along with me on my little mini adventure.

Wash Bag - Illuminati
I love this wash bag. I’ve had it for two years now and it’s the perfect size and shape for smaller trips. It can be folded over or left full size, making it great for squishing into the depths of a rather over-stuffed bag! I’m not sure if this exact style is still available, but there are lots of pretty offerings from this brand to choose from!

Toothbrush & Toothpaste:  Pretty self explanatory…

Shampoo & Conditioner:  I LOVE these little travel bottle sets from Primark and they are only around one pound, so I just decant everything, that way I know I’m well within my limits for what I’m allowed to take on the flight with me. For shampoo I’ve just taken some of the Aussie Mega Shampoo which is a great everyday shampoo that leaves my hair smelling great. For conditioner I’ve taken some of the Alberto Balsam Honey & Almond Conditioning Treatment which considering its tiny price tag is AMAZING! It is meant to be used as a treatment but I love using it as my everyday conditioner.

Showergel: I thought id enter into the winter spirit and take along a small bottle of my beloved Lush Snow Fairy there is no hiding from the festive spirit with this baby around!

Body Moisturiser: With the weather becoming more and more chilly my skins needing some extra TLC so I'm going armed with my best moisturiser Kiehl’s Creme de Corps.

Cleanser, Toner & Moisturiser: Due to the handy size and travel friendly packaging, I decided to take along the Monu Active Cleanser*, Active Toner* and Skin Perfector*.

Face Wash: I’m not really a regular user of face wash, but I think its always handy to have when you're travelling so I popped in the StriVectin-SH Replenishing Cleanser*.

Eye Cream: I'm taking along this teeny weeny pot of It’s Potent! Eye Cream by Benefit, which Sami kindly got me for my birthday this year along with other mini treats from the Benefit skincare range, this is a lovely little eye cream that does its job well and is the perfect travel companion!

Hair Oil: This is a great product to take when travelling as it can be used on wet or dry hair in so many ways, this little baby bottle of Berber Oil* is great.

Lip Balm: Why would I ever take anything else other than one of my favourite lip balms ever, the Mint Chocolate Paperchase Lipbalm, yes a lip balm from a stationary shop, this stuff is AMAZING!

Other little extras include some cotton wool pads and cotton buds, hair ties and slides, a transparent plastic bag to use going through security and a comb. And that’s all, this may seem like a lot, but compared to my usual efforts, this is nothing! What are your favourite travel products?

Alongside this post I’m also doing a little what’s in my handbag- travel edition post, exciting eh? So be sure to check back soon for that!
