Island Naturals Skincare

Island Naturals Skincare

Natural skincare seems to be all the rage at the moment.  There’s just something about using products which have very little chemicals, almost reassuring in a way! As a beauty blogger I've become much more informed on ingredients to avoid and whether products are worth what is contained in the bottle so natural skincare does appeal to me quite a lot.

Island Naturals is a relatively new family run business based in the Isle of Man with the desire to provide environmentally friendly, natural products to the masses.  They have all sorts of skincare and haircare products which are suitable for all different skin and hair types so there is something for everyone.  I was sent three products* to try out including a Pure Rosewater toner, Macadamia Oil and Pure Shea Butter.

Island Naturals Skincare

The Pure Rosewater Toner* is suited for normal to dry skin.  If you’ve been reading our blog for a while you’ll know I have oily skin but I do feel like people with oily skin can get away with using dry skin products so although this isn’t necessarily right for my skin type it’s totally fine to use.  This toner is probably one of the most gentle toners i’ve ever used.  It feels very refreshing on the skin and makes the whole make up removing process much more enjoyable.  Although this toner is lovely I think I’d prefer something a little stronger but if you have sensitive or dry skin I’m sure you’ll love this!

When I received this product I had no idea how much I would come to love it.  Right now my biggest skin concern is acne scarring.  Although I do still have a couple of break outs I feel like acne scarring is the hardest to get rid of.  Macadamia Oil* is known to be one of the best regenerative oils out there.  It’s very high in mono-saturated fatty acids and resembles sebum which is your skins natural protective oil.  I applied this overnight all over my face on the first day I received it and woke up to find my acne scarring redness had dramatically reduced.  After a couple of regular uses I felt that I could actually get away with wearing no foundation, and for me that is huge! If you have acne scarring you have to get this, it will change your life!

The Pure Shea Butter* is a multi-purpose product which you can use on any dry areas of your skin.  When I'm fake tanning (which is about twice a year) all the fake tan seems to cling onto the drier areas of my skin like elbows and knees so I use this Shea Butter on those areas before fake tanning and it helps my tan look as even as possible.  It can also be used as lip balm so it’s handy to pop in your bag if you need a top up, especially as winter is fast approaching.

If you would like to find out more about these products and where to buy them just visit Island Naturals.  Each product has a detailed description complete with a list of ingredients used and who the product is suitable for so you're bound to find something for you!
