Makeup Finishing Spray

Top 3 Makeup Finishing Sprays

Having oily skin means I’m constantly on the hunt for products to keep my makeup lasting all day.  Usually this means piling on the mattifying powder but recently I’ve been giving makeup finishing sprays a try.  You simply spray these products on your face before and/or after your makeup to keep your makeup lasting all day!  I’ve decided to feature makeup sprays from all different price ranges, here’s what I thought of them.

E.L.F Studio Makeup Mist & Set

E.L.F is a really inexpensive brand so I was excited to see they had a setting spray in their studio collection.  This spray has ingredients such as Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E which are all great calming ingredients for the skin.  For £3.75 it’s a great spray however, the actual spray bottle definitely lets it down.  When you dispense the product it shoots out very fast and direct in one place rather than covering your whole face so you need quite a few sprays to cover your face.  I’d recommend you put the formula in a travel spray bottle or something equivalent and it will be perfect!

Mac Fix+

I’d heard mixed reviews of Fix+ before I bought it but for £7.50 I do think it’s a great finishing spray.  I find it works a lot better when you apply it after you’ve put your makeup on.  Often after I’ve applied my powder my face can look a little bit cakey but after a few sprays of this the powder settles down and gives me a very natural finish.  I think i’ll be purchasing the bigger bottle when I run out next time.

Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray

This was the first ever makeup finishing spray I’d ever heard of and I was really excited to get my hands on it.  Unfortunately as Skindinavia mainly ship to the US, I was hit with a big customs charge on top of buying the product, lovely!  This is probably my favourite out of the three sprays.  It applies so easily with very few sprays and I can really tell the difference after using this product.  If you live in the US definitely go for this one.  They have quite a few different sprays to choose from, even a bridal one!

I really like the Mac Fix + It works well for me & i used it loads this summer. I have had the e.l.f one but found mine had a really odd smell. Weird. I should really pick up another bottle as its not too bad for the price. Although i agree with you about the bottle being a bit naff.
