Estée Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher

Estée Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher

I was flicking through a magazine, probably Elle or Glamour a couple of years ago and inside was a little sample of the Idealist Serum which I'm guessing had just came out at the time.  I was kind of unsure about what the product was for but out of curiosity I tried it on my face and couldn't believe the difference!

The Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher is targeted towards people who wish to make their pores appear smaller and want an overall even skin texture.  When I first applied it onto my face it was unbelievably soft, my skin felt moisturised and had a much more even base to work with.  I noticed that it worked really well with my oily skin as for the first time in so long my skin wasn’t oily in the slightest after a long day and my makeup looked just as good as when I first applied it.

In terms of pore minimizing, I don't have very large pores but I do think that this product is great if used as a primer before you put on your makeup if you want it to last all day and have an overall even skin texture.  I don't think any product has the ability to actually shrink your pores but this gives the appearance of it. Definitely more of a short term than long term fix!

If I hadn't tried the sample first I probably wouldn't have purchased it because at £38.00 for a 30ml or £52.00 for a 50ml bottle it is a pretty big investment!  Having said that, I do think it’s absolutely worth it and 2 pumps is enough to cover your whole face.

I use this product either on special occasions or if my skin really needs it because it’s too expensive for me to use as an everyday primer.  The 30ml bottle usually lasts me about 6 months or more so for that reason I think it’s definitely worth the money.

Every time I purchase Idealist, I always make sure to get a sample of Advanced Night Repair, another product in their serum range.  I still haven’t purchased the full size product yet because it’s so expensive but I definitely will at some point.  From the little sample I got I noticed a huge difference in the appearance of my acne scarring.

I’d urge everyone to go to an Estée Lauder counter for a sample before spending all that money but I promise you, you’ll love it!  I showed it to Lisa when we passed an Estée Lauder counter and she thought it was lovely.  We both wore it to the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards if that would give you an indication of how it looks on!
