Models Own Neon 5 Piece Brush Set

tumblr_m2g02gyt211qaz4js

As I was browsing around on ASOS, putting things in my imaginary basket I came across this brush set by Models Own.  I’ve been on a spending ban for a little while but I thought as exams/coursework deadlines are approaching I’d give myself a little treat and make a mental note to pick them up in Boots.

One thing that sold the brushes to me was the price, this set costs only £10.. amazing! I only own two or three eyeshadow brushes (both of which are also Models Own) so I thought I’d try these ones out after being really happy with the previous ones.

The set contains 5 brushes which includes a powder brush, lip liner brush, shading brush, angled brush and blending brush, basically all the brushes you need in a handy clear travel case.

Each brush has a neon orange handle which makes it a little different from your usual brushes but it’s not really essential or the reason why I purchased it.  I suppose because it’s neon it means you’ll be able to find it easily in your makeup bag which is always a bonus!

All brushes are extremely soft and pick up product really well. It doesn’t say on the packaging or website what the bristles are made of but from what I can tell I’d say it was synthetic compared to the eyeshadow and blending brushes I already own which are pony hair.

If you’re looking for brushes you can just pop into your handbag or take travelling I’d definitely recommend them but if you’re looking to use them everyday you might want brushes with larger bristles from their individual collection which are around £4 each.

  1. I hope they are synthetic, because I'm a vegetarian and I don't really like the idea of using animal hair, you never know if the animal was hurt or not :O

According to Models Own the brand is cruelty free if that helps! http://www.modelsownit.com/furry-friendly

Great review! I've been toying with the idea of buying this set for a while now, its so difficult to find a brush set for a good price!

I still use the powder brush quite often but misplaced the smaller ones which is a shame! I'd really recommend their individual eyeshadow and blender brush too, they're really soft and they're all I use! Thanks for commenting lovely :) - Sami xx
