Adventures in London

As you know we went to London last week for a couple of events, and of course couldn’t leave you guys behind, so we thought we’d do a little joint post and tell you about the lovely events we were very lucky to attend!

Pearl Lowe for DP London

"Modern Organic Beauty"

So after a morning full of coffee we headed off to the Mayfair Hotel to check out Pearl Lowe’s candle collaboration with lifestyle brand DP London. As soon as we stepped out of the lift we were wrapped in the most luxurious gorgeous scent and we knew that these candles were going to be something special…

We were greeted not only by the scent, but by the gorgeous team at DP who create wonderful beauty and lifestyle products that aim to infuse both nature and science together, and boy is the outcome magical. Alongside Pearl’s candles was DP’s latest beauty range, including the Classic Body Oil which boasts organic safflower oil amongst its other impressive ingredients.

After some quick refreshments and a jaw dropping glance around the suite, we decided to take a more in depth look at the products, especially those candles, in three alluring scents; spiced punch, citrus plum and white flowers, you could not ignore them, most definitely the main attraction, and once again boasting an array of organic ingredients which are enough to make our Ikea bargain candles blush.

And if the lovely stuff inside wasn’t enough to wow us, then the lovely stuff it was boxed in most certainly was, the packaging really was so understated and beautiful that it would seem a total shame to open it…
After lots of playing and sniffing various products we had a sit down and a chat with the lovely Ella from Coco’s Tea Party we were very lucky and got given goodies bags with one of the candles in spiced punch and a gorgeous hand cream, which we will really be needing now as it’s freezing in Scotland, winter has landed!

We felt totally spoiled and relaxed in our lavish surroundings and couldn’t have been more thankful for our invite to this event.

The collaboration is perfect and the show stealers really were the candles. The candles and DP’s beauty range are available now in Selfridges and also online at ASOS from the end of the month so be sure to treat yourself to a little winter treat!

A big thanks to everyone at DP and Pearl for allowing us the chance to test such great products.

After the event we went for a little wander around Oxford Street and drank even more coffee (there were some serious coffee hangovers the next day believe us!) and then got ourselves ready for our next event…

Eyelure/Elegant Touch Event

After attending the DP London event, we headed off to Shoreditch to attend the Eyelure and Elegant Touch event for a night with cocktails, yummy food and a room filled with our favourite bloggers.  Not to mention lots of technicians on hand to apply nails and eyelashes to make the night even more glamorous!

We arrived pretty early so we had a little drink in the downstairs section of Callooh Calley where the event was being held, the place was absolutely stunning and unlike any other bar back home in Glasgow.  It had a mysterious, narnia esque feel including a secret door shaped like a wardrobe.  When it was time for the event to start, we were lead up the stairs through the wardrobe door into a cosy room filled with hundreds of eyelashes and nail kits and we were immediately given a list of the customised cocktails made specifically for the event, talk about fancy!

Once we were sorted with drinks (Top Hat’s to be exact) it was time to mingle with some bloggers and we were very excited to meet Ysis who we’d been chatting to on twitter since the start of our blog, so it was lovely to finally meet and we were stunned by how beautiful she is in real life!

We decided to get some eyelashes applied, Lisa chose the Naturalites Double Lashes in Style 208 (We were told Adele wears two pairs of these together every day, madness!) and Sami chose to wear the Naturalites in Style 120.

Next we sat down with Sarah and Sarah (Yes both named Sarah!) who we hadn’t spoken to before and had lots of cocktails and chats about all things beauty, lovely girls!

We also had a laugh about what some cheeky person had written in the club guest book!  If you're ever in Callooh Calley see if you can find the message that we left ;)

We also met Vivianna outside of the venue and realised we were both in the same category for the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards so it was lovely to meet her too and I’m sure we’ll see her again for the awards ceremony!

We love our little adventures and we hope you do too, let us know if you want to hear about more of our adventures!
